Paw – Resin Doll (2005)

Paw is a resin doll created in 2005 as part of my Dolls series, an early body of work exploring identity, play, and symbolic forms through small-scale sculpture. Measuring 12 × 5 cm, this piece condenses a strong conceptual presence into a compact, tactile object.

Originally conceived years before its public debut, Paw was presented in 2008 at the F2 Gallery in Beijing, within a context that emphasized cross-cultural dialogue and the tension between innocence and control, object and subject.

Cast in resin, the doll carries a deliberately raw and direct aesthetic, characteristic of the early phase of my artistic research. Paw is not a toy, but a sculptural artifact: a fragment of a wider narrative where form, gesture, and ambiguity invite personal interpretation.

This piece represents an important moment in the evolution of my work, preceding later series while already containing the seeds of the visual and conceptual language that would follow.
