This artwork by Saul Zanolari portrays Clemente VII, pope and Medici, a symbol of power suspended between faith and politics. Part of the XXY – de’ Medici series, the work was exhibited in 2025 at the Museo de’ Medici in Florence, where part of the collection was officially donated.

The eyes are replaced by XY chromosomes, transforming identity into a direct sign. Minimal red marks introduce tension between authority, ego, and representation, reducing the figure to its essential symbols.

This panel is one side of an open sculptural cube. Collecting all four panels increases both value and conceptual strength, offered at a more advantageous price for collectors.
